Paper can be a very difficult thing to control. We are constantly bombarded with mail, documents and forms. But don’t be afraid. With a little practice, you can become the master of fast thinking and purging.

Ever hear of the acronym O.H.I.O.? It stands for Only Handle It Once. When a piece of paper is in your hands, make the decision right then and there if it is worth keeping. We may be in the habit of saving something so we can look at it later. “Later” usually means it will stay in a pile for months on end. The trick is to get real and train yourself to only handle it once. Ask yourself, Am I really going to have time to look at this again? What is the worst that could happen if I toss it? Will the world come to an end if I do toss it? Probably not, right? At 2D9 we believe strongly that a wrong decision is better than no decision.
